Oven Baked Bloomin' Apples
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
Prepare Apples:
Core the apples, removing the seeds and creating a hollow center. Make several vertical cuts around each apple without cutting all the way through, creating the blooming effect.
Fill Apples:
Place the apples in the baking dish. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Spoon the mixture into the center of each apple and drizzle over the cuts.
Add Nuts and Caramel (Optional):
If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts into the center of each apple and place a caramel in the center.
Bake:
Bake the apples for 25-30 minutes, or until they are tender and the topping is bubbly.
Serve:
Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes:
For a more decadent dessert, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
