Gravy-Smothered Salisbury Steak

Prepare the Salisbury Steaks:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Mix until well combined, then shape the mixture into 4-6 oval patties.
Cook the Salisbury Steaks:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
